Anigar Monsee, 28, of Upper Darby, mutilated and tortured the chickens, frogs, and bunnies, in footage shared to YouTube and other social media platforms, multiple news outlets including 6abc and NBC10.
Monsee on Jan. 19 was charged with four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals by means of torture, court records show. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 5.
NBC10 says Monsee identified herself to authorities as the person in the videos at the time of her arrest.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt was not immediately available for comment.
PETA tipped police off to the videos, Bernhardt tells 6abc, noting she can be seen "soliciting more likes and more viewers" during the course of one video during which she hurts and ultimately kills a chicken.
Other videos posted to her YouTube channel over the course of the past year show Monsee torturing multiple frogs, a rabbit, and a pigeon similarly.
Citing the affidavit of probable cause, NBC10 reported Monsee disemboweled animals while they were still alive and sometimes used a dull knife to sever their necks "over the course of several minutes."
